Investment Banking Analyst – M&A – Strategic Investors Group

About the role

J.P. Morgan is seeking an Analyst to join its Strategic Investors Group (SIG) within the Investment Banking Mergers & Acquisitions team. The role offers hands‑on experience in sponsor‑driven M&A transactions, continuous mentorship, and exposure to senior bankers across a leading global bank.

Key responsibilities

• Support transaction execution, including due diligence, document preparation, negotiation, and coordination with client advisers (accounting, legal, etc.).
• Lead quantitative analysis and financial modeling activities such as DCF, LBO, three‑statement models, detailed revenue builds, and ad‑hoc analyses.
• Collaborate with J.P. Morgan product and sector teams to develop client‑focused solutions.
• Build and maintain complex financial models, perform valuation and analytical exercises.
• Draft presentation materials, management presentations, board decks, memoranda, and other client‑facing documents.
• Monitor market developments and maintain knowledge of target client bases and industry dynamics.

Required profile

• Prior experience in an investment banking front‑office or a related role.
• Strong accounting, finance, quantitative, and business writing abilities.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and prioritization skills; self‑starter with a big‑picture perspective.
• Understanding of the transaction cycle and execution‑oriented mindset.
• Impeccable communication skills for interaction with senior professionals and clients.
• Highly motivated, independent, detail‑oriented, and able to thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
