Instructor – Culinary Nutrition, Hospitality & Tourism

About the role

The University of Arkansas Division of Agriculture seeks a full‑time Instructor to lead extension programs in culinary nutrition, hospitality, and tourism. This twelve‑month, non‑tenure‑track position is funded entirely by the Cooperative Extension Service and combines classroom instruction with community outreach.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver extension curricula, workshops, and demonstrations in culinary arts, nutrition, hospitality, and tourism.
• Collaborate with the Assistant Vice President for Family & Consumer Science to align programs with state agricultural priorities.
• Provide 95% of work effort in extension activities and 5% in service duties, including community engagement and stakeholder partnerships.
• Assess program effectiveness and produce reports for the Division of Agriculture.

Required profile

• Relevant academic background in culinary nutrition, hospitality management, tourism, or a related field.
• Experience in adult education, extension services, or community‑based program delivery.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work within a multidisciplinary university team.
