Industrial Cleaning Technician – Baton Rouge

About the role

Vinmar Recycling Solutions (VRS) is supporting the Baton Rouge Complex through its Operations Clean Sweep Program, a critical initiative that keeps refinery and chemical plant areas safe, efficient and environmentally compliant. The Industrial Cleaning Technician will provide housekeeping, waste handling and equipment cleaning services to sustain continuous production.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain refinery and plant housekeeping standards across assigned operating units, including cleaning process areas, walkways, stairways, platforms and equipment locations.
• Collect, segregate and dispose of industrial waste in line with environmental and site procedures.
• Operate industrial cleaning equipment such as pressure washers, vacuum trucks and specialized tools.
• Assist with spill containment, cleanup activities and support outage, turnaround and maintenance projects.
• Load, unload, move and stage materials using approved equipment, and remove debris and trip hazards.
• Conduct inspections to identify housekeeping, safety and environmental concerns, and report unsafe conditions immediately.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 1 year of experience in an industrial, refinery, petrochemical, manufacturing or construction environment.
• Ability to work safely in an operating refinery, lift up to 50 lb, stand, walk, climb ladders and work outdoors in varying weather.
• Willingness to work overtime, weekends, holidays and shift schedules as needed.
• Strong commitment to safety and environmental stewardship.

Required skills

• TWIC Card.
• OSHA 10 certification.
• OSHA 30 certification.
• Basic Plus Safety Council certification.
• Industrial cleaning equipment operation.
• Forklift or material handling equipment operation.
