Grind Machinist I – 3rd Shift

About the role

Moog is seeking a skilled Grind Machinist I for the 3rd shift at its Buffalo, NY facility. The role supports the Military Aircraft Group, producing high‑precision components for programs such as the F‑35, MQ‑25 and FLRAA. You will work in a high‑mix, low‑volume environment where quality and reliability are critical.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret blueprints, process instructions and verbal directions to set up grinding operations.
• Set up, operate and troubleshoot CNC grinding machines for complex, high‑precision parts.
• Perform inspections using micrometers, dial bore gauges and other measuring equipment.
• Collaborate with team members to resolve production issues and improve processes.
• Maintain compliance with FAA Safety Sensitive Work regulations and participate in the company’s drug and alcohol program.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of machinist experience or graduation from a formal manufacturing, machining or CNC certification program.
• Eligibility to enroll in the FAA Drug & Alcohol Program.

Required skills

• CNC machine setup and troubleshooting.
• Precision grinding techniques.
• Use of micrometers and dial bore gauges.
• Blueprint reading and interpretation.
