Grind Machinist – 2nd/3rd Shift

About the role

Moog is seeking an experienced Grind Machinist for the 2nd/3rd shift at its Buffalo, NY facility. You will work within the Military Aircraft Group, producing high‑precision components for programs such as the F‑35, MQ‑25 and FLRAA.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret blueprints, operation sheets and verbal instructions to grind complex parts.
• Select, dress and maintain grinding wheels for cylindrical, internal and surface grinders.
• Produce components to tight tolerances (typically .001 +/- .0005) and high surface‑finish requirements.
• Use measuring equipment to verify dimensions and ensure compliance with FAA regulations.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and participate in the company’s FAA Drug & Alcohol Program.

Required profile

• High School diploma or GED preferred; ability to follow written and verbal instructions in English.
• Minimum 3 years experience as a Grind Machinist.
• Basic arithmetic skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
• Eligibility for a $3,500 sign‑on bonus (application window July 20 2026 – September 11 2026).

• Proficiency with micrometers, calipers and dial bore gauges.
• Blueprint reading and interpretation.
• Grinding wheel selection and dressing.
• Operation of cylindrical, internal and surface grinders.
