Full-Charge Accountant

About the role

We are a global HVAC manufacturer opening a new U.S. office in Melville, NY. We need a Full‑Charge Accountant to own and build the accounting function for this location, reporting to global finance leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full accounting cycle, including AP, AR, general ledger, and journal entries.
• Perform monthly, quarterly and year‑end close, and prepare internal financial statements.
• Reconcile bank, credit‑card and balance‑sheet accounts and track cash flow.
• Oversee vendor setup, invoice processing, payments, customer invoicing, collections and aging reports.
• Prepare and file sales and use tax, and coordinate multi‑state tax filings.
• Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and internal global reporting standards.
• Develop and improve accounting workflows, internal controls and ERP processes.
• Partner with leadership on budgeting, forecasting and scaling the accounting function.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably as a Full‑Charge or Senior Accountant.
• Experience in manufacturing, distribution or product‑based companies.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and multi‑state tax compliance.
• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• CPA or CPA track is a plus.
