Founding Engineer – Build Scalable Geospatial Platform

About the role

Raad is building a platform that coordinates thousands of FAA‑certified pilots to deliver aerial data for critical infrastructure. As a Founding Engineer you will bring stability to a fast‑moving team, tackling core challenges in geospatial data ingestion, storage, processing, and API delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Manage Raad’s infrastructure and networking stack.
• Write clean, reliable Ruby on Rails code daily.
• Identify and eliminate technical debt, improving performance.
• Develop internal dashboards, customer‑facing APIs, and worker queues for mission dispatch, data uploads, and quality control.
• Help define product architecture that can scale tenfold without cost explosion.

Required profile

• Deep experience with Ruby on Rails.
• Obsessive focus on code clarity, hygiene, and maintainability.
• Comfort working in high‑speed, low‑spec environments.
• Ability to debug production incidents calmly.
• Curiosity about drones, mapping, or geospatial data (nice to have).
