Founding Engineer (AI/ML)

About the role

This founding-level AI/ML engineering position is part of an early‑stage AI‑powered recruiting marketplace. You will own the intelligence layer that matches top talent with the right opportunities, working side‑by‑side with the founding team.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain the AI/ML intelligence layer, including recommendation and ranking algorithms.
• Develop and ship LLM‑powered candidate‑role matching features to production.
• Architect production‑grade data pipelines and backend services that integrate across the stack.
• Collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams to translate goals into deployable features.
• Deliver end‑to‑end features with rapid, daily shipping cadence.

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience delivering end‑to‑end product features in production environments.
• Proficiency with LLM APIs and experience building LLM‑powered features.
• Background in recommendation systems, ranking algorithms, or ML‑based matching.
• Strong skills in TypeScript and React for production applications.
• Hands‑on experience with Supabase, Prisma, and database design.
• Familiarity with Typesense or similar search/ranking infrastructure.
• Experience using trigger.dev or comparable workflow automation tools.
• Comfortable in fast‑paced, entrepreneurial startup settings.

What we offer

• Salary range $130,000 – $170,000 USD per year.
