Forward Deployed Engineer

About the role

Fin, now part of Salesforce, is growing its team of Forward Deployed Engineers to bridge the gap between customer needs and product innovation. You will work hands-on with strategic customers, partnering with R&D and Go-to-Market teams to design and deliver high-impact solutions, and help shape product direction and roadmap decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Drive adoption of Fin by helping customers use its AI capabilities to automate and scale their support operations.
• Embed with strategic customers to understand their business challenges and technical requirements.
• Work side-by-side with customers' technical teams as a trusted technical expert, coding to drive projects through to completion.
• Collaborate with Sales, Success and Product teams to ensure seamless customer experiences and actionable product feedback.
• Codify best practices and share insights from customer engagements to help the team scale.

Required profile

• Strong engineering background and experience building software with real-world usage; SaaS experience is a plus.
• Interest in AI and machine learning, and the ability to quickly grasp new architectures and their trade-offs.
• Ability to prototype and ship software quickly while keeping a high quality bar.
• Willingness to travel and work on-site with customers.
• Proof of eligibility to work in the United States is required.

Required skills

• Deep knowledge of at least one high-level language such as JavaScript, Python or Ruby.
• Proficiency using and writing REST APIs.
• Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences.

What we offer

• Base salary range in the Chicago area of $160,000 - $213,300, depending on education, skills, experience and location.
• Possibility of a corporate bonus or sales incentive (target included in OTE).
• Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).
• Hybrid policy with at least three days per week in the office.
