Forward Deployed Engineer, Agentic Platform (West Coast)

About the role

This role offers a unique opportunity to shape how enterprises harness AI in real‑world applications. As a bridge between Cohere’s North platform and client engineering teams, you will design, build, and deploy agentic workflows powered by large language models. You will work directly with customers in high‑impact sectors such as finance, healthcare, and telecommunications.

Key responsibilities

• Work closely with enterprise customers to translate high‑value, ambiguous business problems into well‑framed agentic workflows with clear success criteria.
• Lead the design, build, and delivery of LLM‑powered agents that reason, plan, and act across tools, APIs, and sensitive enterprise data sources.
• Build and ship features for North, the AI workspace platform, across the full product lifecycle from concept to production.
• Own end‑to‑end scoping of use cases, flexing into any technical area required, including frontend, to deliver effective solutions.
• Contribute to shared frameworks and patterns that ensure consistent, high‑quality delivery across customers and teams.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience building and deploying production‑grade software in Python.
• Proven track record delivering highly performant RAG and agentic applications that execute multi‑step tasks.
• Deep familiarity with the LLM stack, including frontier models, vector databases, and orchestration frameworks.
• Ability to design robust evaluation frameworks for accuracy, safety, and latency of AI agents.
• Experience working directly with enterprise customers and translating ambiguous business needs into concrete technical specifications.
