Forest Financing Intern

About the role

The United Nations Forum on Forests (UNFF) within the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs is seeking a motivated intern to support forest financing initiatives. You will work closely with the programme management officer to gather, analyse and publish information that helps guide financing for forests worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct desk research on international forest financing opportunities, learning materials and best practices, especially for developing and transition economies.
• Organise and update data on the Clearing House on Forest Financing website, preparing written content for web pages.
• Research global data hubs to identify good practices for future design improvements of the Clearing House.
• Develop knowledge summaries that synthesize global status, good practices and lessons learned from webinars and public sources.
• Assist with setting up, uploading or maintaining the Clearing House website using the Drupal platform.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the UNFF Secretariat.

Required profile

• Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages to different audiences.
• Strong teamwork orientation, valuing input from colleagues and supporting collective decisions.
• Interest in sustainable forest management, environmental finance and international development.

Required skills

• Experience with the Drupal content‑management system.
