Floating Maintenance Technician – Virginia Beach

About the role

Greystar is seeking a Floating Maintenance Technician to support its residential properties in Southern Virginia (Hampton Roads). The role involves ensuring that buildings, grounds, amenities, and common areas meet the company’s standards for cleanliness, safety, and functionality.

Key responsibilities

• Complete resident‑requested work orders and perform preventative maintenance.
• Execute the “make‑ready” process for vacant units, including inspections, punch‑list creation, vendor coordination, and final inspections.
• Manage inventory of tools, supplies, and equipment, tracking usage and notifying supervisors of re‑order needs.
• Document service requests accurately and timely.
• Maintain grounds and common areas by trash removal, pressure‑washing breezeways and pool areas, general cleaning, and painting of curbs and signage.
• Support cost‑control initiatives by repairing rather than replacing parts whenever possible.

Required profile

• Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, climb ladders, and lift moderate loads for extended periods.
• Strong attention to safety standards, company policies, and local code requirements.
• Ability to diagnose mechanical or technical issues and perform appropriate repairs.
• Organized approach to paperwork, inventory tracking, and vendor coordination.
