Job description
About the role
CACI is seeking a highly motivated, self-starting Field Systems Engineer to lead the deployment, integration and optimization of advanced radar and sensor systems for counter-UAS operations. The engineer sets up sensors at remote sites, configures systems for On-The-Move (OTM) operations and analyzes data streams to detect small, low-profile targets. The role requires up to 50% travel across the continental US and no minimum security clearance to start.
Key responsibilities
- Deploy, configure and register solid-state radar systems (RADA 42 and 82 series and Echodyne metamaterial platforms) for static and dynamic OTM applications.
- Troubleshoot, debug and integrate complex RF, SIGINT and sensor node architectures.
- Integrate and calibrate Position, Navigation and Timing (PNT) systems for accurate tracking while on the move.
- Fine-tune radar parameters, clutter maps and Doppler filters on site to improve detection of small unmanned aerial systems in clutter.
- Travel to remote sites and test ranges for performance testing, validation and customer demonstrations.
Required profile
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM field (Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, etc.) or equivalent military/technical experience.
- Proven ability to work independently and solve hardware and software problems in complex RF/SIGINT systems.
- Hands-on experience installing, configuring and operating tactical radar, electronic warfare or advanced sensor networks.
- Strong understanding of PNT integration and OTM sensor deployments.
- Willingness to travel to field sites and U.S. citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
Preferred qualifications
- Data science or scripting background (Python, MATLAB) for building code and optimizing sUAS detection algorithms.
- Prior military experience in Air Defense Artillery, electronic warfare or tactical network integration.
- Direct hands-on experience calibrating and troubleshooting RADA or Echodyne systems in austere environments.
What we offer
- Proposed pay range of $79,400 - $162,700, depending on location, experience and skills.
- Healthcare, wellness, financial, retirement and family support benefits, plus continuing education and time off.
- A flexible time-off benefit and access to learning resources.
