Field Operations Analyst

About the role

As a Field Operations Analyst at 3m, you will support the end‑to‑end material flow from purchase to finished product across multiple plants and distribution centers. You will work with cross‑functional teams to improve transportation cost, service performance and data integrity.

Key responsibilities

• Own demand signal capture and short‑ to medium‑term volume forecasting for container planning and booking.
• Build and maintain dashboards tracking first‑leg KPIs such as cost per container, drayage spend, carrier performance and network volume.
• Conduct cost analysis and identify savings opportunities across consolidation centers and drayage spend.
• Support continuous‑improvement targets against annual spend‑reduction goals.
• Maintain accurate records in ERP, WMS and TMS platforms and ensure data integrity with plants, traffic‑management and freight‑forwarder teams.
• Produce regular leadership reports on first‑leg cost performance and trends.
• Participate in CI initiatives across first‑leg operations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher, OR high school diploma/GED with 7+ years of supply‑chain experience.
• At least 1 year of experience with ocean/air freight, drayage, intermodal or trucking operations.
• Minimum 1 year of SAP or equivalent ERP experience.
• Exposure to Lean or Six Sigma methodologies is preferred.
