About the role
The Faith Outreach & Engagement Organizer will serve as the primary liaison between FPWA and its network of faith partners. Reporting to the Director of Membership, Faith, & Strategic Partnerships, the role supports the Membership & External Affairs Department by driving faith‑based recruitment, engagement, and retention while advancing policy and campaign initiatives.
Key responsibilities
- Act as the first point of contact for faith partners, handling inquiries and providing information on engagement pathways and membership.
- Assist in creating and executing a strategic plan to expand and deepen relationships with faith leaders and organizations.
- Lead recruitment, engagement, and retention strategies that mobilize faith partners in policy campaigns and advocacy efforts.
- Conduct one‑to‑one meetings to assess the capacity, strengths, and needs of faith leaders and institutions.
- Develop leadership pipelines, advisory boards, borough‑based councils, and communities of practice to strengthen faith‑based engagement.
- Monitor industry trends, political conditions, and organizing capacity within the faith community to identify coordinated action opportunities.
- Manage initiatives to grow FPWA’s faith membership, build a distinct faith member identity, and enhance the organization’s profile in the faith‑based sector.
- Collaborate with Programs and Campaigns teams to align faith‑partner activities with FPWA’s strategic objectives.
Required profile
- Demonstrated experience in faith‑based outreach, partnership development, or community organizing.
- Strong understanding of policy advocacy and campaign coordination within nonprofit settings.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse faith leaders and institutions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for relational meetings and stakeholder engagement.
- Analytical mindset to assess trends, political conditions, and capacity within the faith sector.
