Facility Condition Assessment Internship (SkillBridge)

About the role

This SkillBridge internship provides transitioning service members with hands‑on experience in facility condition assessment and asset management. Over 12‑16 weeks you will work remotely while traveling to site inspections, receive mentorship, and gain exposure to industry‑standard software and reporting practices.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct facility condition assessments alongside a mentor, evaluating building systems, structures, interiors, exteriors and pavements.
• Travel up to 50% of the time to perform on‑site inspections and gather photographic documentation.
• Prepare assessment reports using ACgo and AssetCalc, including condition ratings, remaining useful life and cost estimates.
• Participate in weekly check‑ins, mid‑point evaluations and deliver a final presentation summarising lessons learned and professional goals.

Required profile

• Transitioning service member interested in engineering, architecture, facilities or construction management.
• Detail‑oriented, tech‑friendly (iPad, Microsoft Office) and able to climb ladders or stairs for inspections.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities, comfortable working both independently and within a team.

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, roofing and paving systems.
• Proficiency with iPad and inspection software such as ACgo and AssetCalc.
• Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) competency.
