Facilities Maintenance Technician II – Charlotte, NC

About the role

The Facilities Maintenance Technician II will support daily operations at BASF's Charlotte site, ensuring equipment reliability, safety compliance, and smooth building functionality. The role combines hands‑on maintenance, contractor oversight, and preventive‑maintenance planning.

Key responsibilities

• Perform daily rounds, issue permits, and conduct equipment inspections.
• Apply OSHA safety knowledge and BASF safety protocols, including lockout/tagout and contractor orientations.
• Maintain the preventive‑maintenance program for office and lab buildings, completing work orders and coordinating minor repairs.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and calibrate lab and building equipment.
• Execute building upkeep tasks such as replacing light bulbs, ceiling tiles, door knobs, and performing minor plumbing, carpentry, and painting work.
• Conduct daily walkthroughs using check‑lists and document findings.
• Support office moves, event setups, and handle deliveries, pallet‑jack and hand‑truck operations.

Required profile

• High School Diploma/GED.
• 2‑5 years of operations or facilities maintenance experience.
• Strong safety record and ability to work independently.
• Dependable, results‑oriented, and safety‑conscious.
