Extra Help Assistant – Fitness Center

About the role

The Extra Help Assistant works at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock Fitness Center located in the Donaghey Student Center. This temporary, work‑study position provides hands‑on experience with daily operations, programming, and event planning in a busy university environment.

Key responsibilities

• Verify member eligibility by checking swipe cards for entry into the Fitness Center.
• Greet visitors and students, providing friendly customer service.
• Answer phone calls and direct inquiries to appropriate staff.
• Assist with scheduling, equipment check‑outs, and basic administrative tasks.
• Support event set‑up and coordination for fitness‑related programs.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to work at least 15 hours per week; additional hours may be required.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a professional demeanor.
• Interest in fitness and willingness to learn university center operations.
