Extra Help Assistant – EHS Technician

About the role

The University of Arkansas at Little Rock is seeking an Extra Help Assistant – EHS Technician to support the Director of Environmental Health and Safety. This temporary, on‑site position helps ensure campus compliance with safety regulations across fire, laboratory, recycling, and animal control areas.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect and repair safety systems such as fire extinguishers, emergency lighting, exit signs, smoke/heat detectors, UST monitoring wells, eyewashes, and safety showers.
• Perform routine fire system maintenance and inspections.
• Manage lamp recycling and general safety equipment inspections.
• Assist with animal control duties and respond to miscellaneous trouble calls and fire alarm events.
• Maintain records and documentation to meet governmental and institutional safety standards.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic computer proficiency.
• Ability to follow safety regulations and procedures.
