Explosives Operator

About the role

The Explosives Operator is responsible for the safe disassembly, maintenance, and refurbishment of a wide range of weaponry and ammunition. This position ensures that all explosive components are handled according to strict safety protocols and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Disassemble rifles, carbines, mortars, pistols, revolvers, and machine guns for incidental work.
• Remove cartridges from rockets and reinstall new components.
• Renovate artillery items for demolition purposes.
• Use powered wire brushes to maintain ammunition items.
• Remove corrosion from small‑arm ammunition using automatic machines.
• Perform maintenance on obsolete, deteriorated, damaged, or contaminated items in compliance with policies.

Required profile

• U.S. citizenship.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Pass a background investigation, drug‑abuse testing, and criminal‑history check.
• Eligibility for a Secret Security Clearance.
• Completion of pre‑employment and annual physical examinations.
• Physical capability to lift 25‑50 lb objects regularly and occasional loads over 50 lb.
