Engineering Manager – Frontend

About the role

ClickUp is building a converged AI workspace and needs a highly technical Engineering Manager to lead a business‑critical frontend team focused on collaborative document editing. The role combines hands‑on technical guidance with people leadership in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide hands‑on technical guidance, ensuring best practices in architecture and design.
• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of engineers, fostering collaboration and continuous improvement.
• Drive development of new features, guaranteeing high performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineering teams to align goals and prioritize initiatives.
• Oversee code reviews, enforce coding standards, and champion clean, maintainable code.
• Stay current with trends in collaborative editing, cloud infrastructure, and web development, applying innovations to the product.
• Maintain stability and performance of the Docs platform, addressing technical debt and optimizing architecture.

Required profile

• Proficiency in Node.js, relational databases, and at least one modern frontend framework.
• Experience with AWS cloud services and infrastructure.
• Proven track record of managing and scaling engineering teams.
• Strong ability to mentor and develop technical talent.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and data‑driven decision making.
• Effective verbal and written communication, able to explain technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience; 7+ years of software engineering experience with at least 1 year in a leadership role.
