Energy Engineer

About the role

Amentum is looking for an Energy Engineer to join its team in Springfield, VA, supporting a mission-critical customer. The selected candidate will act as a lead and expert energy manager for one of the most complex buildings operated by the US Government. An active Top Secret security clearance is required.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a strategic energy management plan and a Strategic Energy and Water Management Plan (SEWMP)
• Perform trend analysis for greenhouse gases, fuel consumption, water consumption, sewer throughput, peak performance and energy consumption
• Ensure building modifications comply with code requirements
• Coordinate with program management and the government customer to define system specifications and requirements
• Develop, maintain and produce an energy conservation report, and verify compliance with energy documentation standards and submissions
• Prepare, deliver and submit technical papers and perform engineering studies
• Support technical proposals and comment on their content and level of effort
• Serve as the primary contract point of contact for energy management
• Develop an Energy and Water Conservation Plan (EWCP)

Required profile

• Active Top Secret security clearance
• Bachelor's degree in engineering
• Experience applying government regulations, codes and standards
• Preferred: LEED Green Associate or LEED AP certification, and Certified Energy Manager (CEM) designation
