Elevator Inspection Internship – SkillBridge (Active Military)

About the role

This SkillBridge internship provides active‑duty U.S. military personnel with hands‑on experience inspecting elevators, escalators, and related equipment. Participants will work alongside senior inspectors, learn industry standards, and prepare for the Qualified Elevator Inspector (QEI) certification.

Key responsibilities

• Assist senior inspectors in performing safety, mechanical, and electrical inspections on elevators, escalators, and related equipment.
• Learn to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and code requirements.
• Document inspection findings accurately and prepare preliminary reports.
• Participate in daily safety briefings and wear appropriate PPE.
• Complete assigned coursework and practice exams to prepare for the Qualified Elevator Inspector (QEI) exam.

Required profile

• Active‑duty U.S. military service member in the final 180 days of service.
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training preferred.
• Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
