Elementary Library Media Technician (Part‑time)

About the role

The Elementary Library Media Technician provides support to the George McParland School library, assisting students and staff with media resources during a part‑time schedule of 4.25 hours per day.

Key responsibilities

• Assist students and teachers in locating and using library materials and digital resources.
• Maintain the organization of library collections, including shelving, cataloging, and inventory checks.
• Support classroom media projects and coordinate the circulation of books and media items.
• Perform routine library tasks such as checking items in/out, preparing displays, and handling basic equipment.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent plus 48 college units, an Associate of Arts degree, or successful completion of the district’s paraprofessional proficiency test.
• Desirable experience working with school‑age students or in a library setting.
• Ability to obtain TB clearance and fingerprinting at employee cost.
• Preference will be given to internal candidates.
