About the role

Applied Materials seeks a technically skilled Electro‑Mechanical Technician to support the design, testing, and assembly of electronics, avionics, mechanical, and nuclear‑related systems. The position is open to transitioning military personnel and offers a supportive environment for career growth.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine to moderately complex electro‑mechanical functions such as design, test, checkout, fabrication, modification, troubleshooting and assembly of electronics and electro‑mechanical systems.
• Test and troubleshoot system‑level and component‑level problems in electrical and mechanical subsystems; execute new system and NPI installations and field upgrades.
• Interpret schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, and layouts to conduct testing and troubleshooting; compile logbooks and test‑procedure documentation.
• Conduct mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, vacuum and process testing on AMAT platforms in accordance with engineering and manufacturing specifications.

Required profile

• Physically demanding work that includes standing for long periods, lifting, climbing ladders, and working in tight spaces or clean‑room environments.
• Ability to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (coveralls, hood, booties, safety glasses, gloves, respirators, etc.) and follow strict safety and security procedures.
• No supervisory responsibilities; works independently while adhering to established procedures.
