About the role
The Educational Director leads the NYPA PowerUp2030 supplier‑development program, a five‑year partnership between the New York Power Authority and LaGuardia Community College. Reporting to the Assistant Dean of Business Services, the Director designs, delivers and continuously improves a statewide curriculum that prepares small and mid‑size businesses to compete for clean‑energy contracts.
Key responsibilities
- Lead execution of four annual cohorts (two upstate, two downstate), ensuring consistent quality across in‑person, virtual and hybrid sessions.
- Oversee the ten‑module curriculum, coordinate with NYPA subject‑matter experts and external instructors, and keep content applied to procurement realities.
- Supervise Business Advisors and the Program Manager, set performance expectations and conduct regular team reviews.
- Serve as the primary liaison with NYPA, aligning program delivery with procurement priorities and reporting requirements.
- Manage cohort scheduling, venue logistics, and hybrid delivery logistics across multiple regions.
- Direct recruitment strategy, evaluate applicants, and participate in final selection decisions.
- Track enrollment, participation, completion and outcomes in Zoho One, and prepare weekly, quarterly and NYPA deliverables.
- Ensure a high‑quality participant experience, address escalations, and drive continuous improvement based on data and feedback.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred.
- Minimum seven years of experience in program leadership, workforce development or entrepreneurship initiatives.
- Proven experience managing staff, multi‑stakeholder projects and delivering outcomes in a grant‑funded environment.
Required skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365.
- Experience using CRM/LMS platforms (e.g., Zoho One) for data tracking and reporting.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for stakeholder engagement.
