Drainage Project Engineer

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Drainage Project Engineer to lead the planning, design, and delivery of stormwater and drainage infrastructure projects. You will work with multidisciplinary teams to create practical, buildable solutions for both public and private sector clients.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design of stormwater, drainage, and flood‑mitigation systems for land‑development and infrastructure projects.
• Prepare and review drainage reports, technical calculations, plans, and specifications.
• Perform hydrologic and hydraulic modeling using industry‑standard software.
• Apply local, regional, and national drainage standards and regulatory requirements.
• Manage project components from concept through detailed design and construction support.
• Coordinate with civil, transportation, structural, and environmental teams to deliver integrated solutions.
• Review contractor submittals, respond to RFIs, and support construction activities.
• Assist in cost estimating, scheduling, and design optimization.
• Collaborate with clients, municipalities, and regulatory agencies to obtain approvals.
• Mentor junior engineers and review their work for quality and consistency.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• 7–9 years of progressive experience in drainage and stormwater engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE / P.Eng. / CEng) license or active pursuit of licensure.
• Strong understanding of hydrology, hydraulics, and drainage design principles.
• Experience working with public and private sector clients.
