Director, People Business Partner – Americas

About the role

The Director, People Business Partner (PBP) for the Americas partners with senior business leaders to shape and execute people strategies that drive performance, growth, and culture across the region. Acting as a trusted advisor, the role translates Mastercard’s enterprise people strategy into practical, region‑specific solutions while ensuring consistency and strong execution.

Key responsibilities

• Translate enterprise people strategy into actionable regional plans aligned to business priorities and cultural commitments.
• Partner with senior leaders to anticipate workforce needs, address capability gaps, and drive talent processes such as talent reviews, succession planning, performance management, and compensation planning.
• Champion talent cross‑pollination across teams to build capability, broaden experience, and strengthen leadership pipelines.
• Advise on organizational design, role clarity, career paths, and leadership structures to enable scale and agility.
• Coach senior leaders and people managers on leadership effectiveness, team dynamics, and complex people matters.
• Promote inclusive, engaging employee experiences that strengthen culture and engagement across the Americas.
• Serve as the regional liaison to People Centers of Excellence and shared‑services partners.

Required profile

• Demonstrated success advising and coaching senior business leaders on HR strategy, talent management, and culture initiatives.
• Proven ability to build strong relationships and collaborate with COEs and cross‑functional partners in a highly matrixed organization.
• Experience leading complex, cross‑functional projects and delivering high‑quality people outcomes.
• Strong business acumen, influence, and sound judgment.
