Director of Risk Management (Full-time)

About the role

The Manteca Unified School District is seeking a full‑time Director of Risk Management to lead its Risk Management Department. This position oversees the district’s risk management program, ensuring safety, compliance, and effective mitigation of potential liabilities across all schools.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and supervise the district’s risk management policies and procedures.
• Manage day‑to‑day operations of the Risk Management Department, including incident reporting and claims handling.
• Coordinate with school administrators, staff, and external agencies to identify and mitigate risks.
• Prepare and present risk assessments and reports to senior leadership.
• Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations related to school safety and risk.
• Oversee pre‑employment requirements such as TB clearance and fingerprinting.

Required profile

• High School Diploma (U.S. Department of Education accredited) plus at least thirty college semester units.
• Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration or a related field is desirable.
• Minimum five years of progressively responsible experience managing a risk management program, preferably in a school district.
• Preference will be given to internal candidates.
