Director of Operations

About the role

The Museum of Ice Cream is seeking a dynamic Director of Operations to lead its portfolio of immersive locations. You will guide General Managers, Assistant GMs, and site teams, translating strategic vision into day‑to‑day operational excellence while fostering a culture of creativity, inclusivity, and high performance.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee multiple museum sites, ensuring best‑in‑class hospitality standards, processes, and systems.
• Develop and execute portfolio‑level strategies that drive guest experience, operational efficiency, and financial performance.
• Coach, mentor, and hold GMs and managers accountable for performance, culture, and inclusivity.
• Manage budgets, expenses, and revenue targets across all locations.
• Design and implement new operational systems, training programs, and performance metrics.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional stakeholders to resolve guest issues and drive continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Minimum 3‑5 years leading a multi‑site operation (5+ locations) with 50+ staff and $7M+ annual revenue.
• Proven experience as a General Manager or local Director of Operations in hospitality, F&B, or experience‑focused environments.
• Strong background in strategy, execution, finance, and HR.
• Passion for systems, processes, training, and creating memorable guest experiences.
• Effective on‑the‑ground coach and leader capable of handling complex operational challenges.
