Director of Inventory Planning & Allocation - Commercial

About the role

The company is looking for a senior leader to own inventory strategy for its commercial business, covering both wholesale accounts and company‑operated retail stores. This role will drive demand forecasting, inventory planning, allocation and replenishment across all channels while partnering closely with e‑commerce planning to keep inventory balanced.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and own annual and seasonal inventory plans aligned with sales, margin and growth targets.
• Translate commercial forecasts into detailed inventory requirements by channel, account, store, region, category and SKU.
• Manage open‑to‑buy plans, recommend inventory investments and monitor KPIs such as sell‑through, weeks of supply and stock‑to‑sales ratios.
• Lead in‑season reforecasting, scenario planning and risk mitigation to maximize revenue and reduce excess inventory.
• Design and execute allocation and replenishment strategies for retail stores and wholesale accounts, including safety‑stock levels and reorder points.
• Collaborate with sales, merchandising, and e‑commerce teams to address stock imbalances and support cross‑channel inventory decisions.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in inventory planning, forecasting and allocation within home‑goods, retail or multi‑category consumer businesses.
• Strong analytical ability combined with commercial judgment to drive profitable growth.
• Proven track record of managing inventory across both wholesale and retail channels.
• Excellent partnership skills to work with cross‑functional leadership teams.
