Director - Employee Development & Learning

About the role

AMC Global Media is seeking a Director of Employee Development & Learning to lead the design and execution of enterprise‑wide learning strategies. Based in New York, the role will shape core, functional, and leadership development programs that align with the company’s strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Design and lead an enterprise learning and development strategy focused on core skills, functional skills, and people‑management/leadership development.
• Define and advance core‑skill development priorities that support organizational strategy and culture.
• Lead performance‑and‑feedback practices, including goal setting, continuous coaching, development planning, and accountability.
• Partner with senior leaders and HR stakeholders to strengthen manager effectiveness, employee growth, and a culture of ongoing learning.
• Use employee engagement insights to inform development strategies that improve team performance, retention, and culture.
• Design and oversee functional learning programs that address technical and role‑specific capability gaps.
• Develop leadership and people‑management programs that enhance coaching, team effectiveness, internal mobility, and leadership readiness.
• Lead talent review and succession‑planning processes to identify high‑potential talent and strengthen leadership pipelines.
• Provide strategic consultation and coaching to leaders on feedback culture, development planning, and organizational effectiveness.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading enterprise‑wide learning and development initiatives, preferably at a senior or director level.
• Strong partnership skills with senior business leaders and HR teams.
• Ability to translate business priorities and engagement data into targeted learning solutions.
• Experience overseeing talent review, succession planning, and leadership pipeline development.
• Excellent communication, influencing, and coaching capabilities.
