CWB Welding Inspector & Manufacturing Engineer

About the role

Join KONE’s Coal Valley plant as a CWB Welding Inspector Manufacturing Engineer, supporting the Weld Supervisor and driving process improvements that enhance safety, quality, and productivity.

Key responsibilities

• Perform visual inspections of all welds to ensure compliance with quality and CWB requirements.
• Develop and maintain standard work instructions, procedures, and training materials for consistent manufacturing practices.
• Provide training and mentorship to welding personnel on inspection criteria, welding procedures, and quality expectations.
• Support special projects and manufacturing initiatives that improve operational performance, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

Required profile

• 5+ years of certified welding experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
• High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s degree preferred.
• CWB Certified Welding Supervisor (CWB) and/or Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification preferred.
• Experience interpreting welding drawings, specifications, and quality requirements.

Required skills

• Visual weld inspection techniques.
• Knowledge of welding procedures and CWB standards.
• Root cause analysis and corrective action methodologies.
• Familiarity with manufacturing systems and process documentation tools.
