Controls Team Lead, Capacity Delivery (Data Centers)

About the role

Clear is looking for an experienced Controls Team Lead to own controls engineering and delivery across a growing portfolio of large-scale data center projects. This is a senior technical leadership position covering the full lifecycle of mission-critical controls, from design and standards through construction, integration and commissioning. The role works closely with engineering teams, controls contractors, integrators and commissioning teams.

Key responsibilities

• Lead controls engineering and delivery across multiple data center projects
• Develop, maintain and improve BMS and EPMS controls standards and ensure consistent implementation
• Own and review Sequences of Operations (SOOs) and controls reference designs
• Set controls requirements for new projects and review drawings, points lists, graphics, alarms, sequences and integration requirements
• Manage and give technical direction to controls contractors and systems integrators
• Review controls programming and identify issues before commissioning
• Work with electrical, mechanical, MEP and commissioning teams and support L4/L5 commissioning
• Identify recurring issues and develop standardised solutions, and mentor controls engineers and project teams

Required profile

• Significant experience in data centers, mission-critical facilities, industrial automation or a closely related environment
• Proven experience with controls contractors, integrators and vendors, and taking systems through construction, integration and commissioning
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, and willingness to travel to project sites

• BMS, EPMS and building/industrial controls systems
• Sequences of Operations and controls architecture, points lists, graphics and alarms
• Preferred: Niagara, Ignition or similar platforms, EPMS/power monitoring, controls cybersecurity, automated commissioning, and prior leadership of controls engineers
