Commissioning Specialist – Remote

About the role

The Commissioning Specialist provides advanced technical analysis and evaluation of electrical and mechanical building systems to ensure they operate according to design intent, project specifications, and regulatory standards. Working remotely, the specialist collaborates with engineers, contractors, vendors, and client stakeholders to deliver clear, actionable findings that guide project outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Perform testing, observation, and documentation of electrical equipment such as emergency generators, UPS systems, panel boards, transformers and lighting control systems.
• Conduct testing and validation of mechanical equipment including chillers, AHUs, VRF systems, pumps and heating units, ensuring performance meets design intent.
• Interpret and verify electrical and mechanical drawings and schematics against field conditions to support commissioning activities.
• Record and validate test results in approved commissioning platforms (CxAlly, Facility Grid) maintaining data integrity.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical or related field (or equivalent experience) with at least 3 years of commissioning or field experience.
• Valid driver’s license with clean record and ability to travel to client sites as needed.
• Preferred certifications such as CxA, CCP, BCxP, NICET or relevant trade licensure.

Required skills

• Hands‑on testing of electrical and mechanical building systems.
• Proficiency with commissioning software platforms CxAlly and Facility Grid.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings and schematics.
• Competence in using a computer, electronic tablet, word processing and spreadsheet applications.
