Commercial Furniture Designer

About the role

A leading commercial furniture dealer in Houston is looking for a Furniture Designer to bring clients' visions to life. The role is showroom-based and sits at the intersection of design and sales: you will work hands-on with the sales team to build furniture packages that turn a client's space into a beautiful workspace, partnering daily with sales and meeting interior design clients face-to-face.

Key responsibilities

• Create detailed furniture layouts, specifications and renderings using CET
• Translate client and designer requirements into functional, on-brand furniture packages
• Collaborate with the sales team throughout the sales cycle, from initial concept to final specification
• Meet directly with interior design clients to understand space planning needs and present design solutions
• Maintain accurate product specifications, finishes and pricing within design packages
• Support showroom presentations and client walkthroughs
• Stay current on furniture lines, finishes and product capabilities

Required profile

• Proficiency in CET (CAP CET Designer) required; experience with AutoCAD or Revit is a plus
• Background in furniture design, space planning or interior design
• Strong eye for finishes, layout and spatial flow
• Comfortable presenting design concepts to clients and design professionals
• Detail-oriented, especially on specifications and product accuracy
• Collaborative mindset, since the role lives at the intersection of design and sales
