Clinical/Medical Lab Scientist – Transfusion Services (PRN)

About the role

This position receives and prepares specimens, performs laboratory tests and calculations, and provides data for diagnosis and treatment. The role also includes phlebotomy procedures, equipment calibration, and maintaining patient confidentiality.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine and specialized transfusion laboratory testing independently within established time frames.
• Conduct quality control, instrument maintenance, and troubleshooting, documenting corrective actions as needed.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and safety guidelines, including proficiency testing.
• Manage supply and reagent inventory and support performance‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in medical technology, clinical laboratory science, or a related scientific field.
• Current state license (if applicable) and ASCP, AMT, or AAB certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist/Technologist.
• No prior work experience required; ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends and on‑call availability.
• Physical ability to lift moderate loads, stand for prolonged periods, and perform phlebotomy.
