Clinical Pharmacist – Specialty Pharmacy

About the role

The Clinical Pharmacist in our Specialty Pharmacy team ensures patients receive complete and appropriate drug therapy within a multidisciplinary care environment. You will collaborate with providers, resolve insurance issues, and lead the Patient Advocate team to improve outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Perform patient assessments and provide direct pharmaceutical care.
• Manage prior authorizations and resolve insurance billing on behalf of patients and providers.
• Oversee the Patient Advocate team and coordinate communication with patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals.
• Conduct drug utilization reviews to ensure therapy appropriateness.
• Work with the Specialty Fulfillment team to guarantee timely medication receipt and compliance.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (required); PharmD preferred.
• Completion of a PGY1 or PGY2 Pharmacy Practice Residency.
• Louisiana Board of Pharmacy license (required); multi‑state licensure preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification to be obtained within 60 days of hire.
• Preferred: up to 2 years experience in specialty pharmacy.

Required skills

• Computer data‑entry and retrieval of patient information.
• Proficiency with Windows‑style operating systems.
• Strong command of Microsoft Office applications.
