About the role
Join a leading, faith‑based nonprofit healthcare system as a Clinical Pharmacist focused on intensive care and internal medicine units. You will provide high‑quality medication management, support interdisciplinary teams, and contribute to patient safety in a fast‑paced hospital environment.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive clinical pharmacy services for ICU and internal medicine patients, including pharmacokinetic dosing and therapeutic monitoring.
- Perform antimicrobial stewardship activities and verify medication orders for safety and efficacy.
- Compound and dispense sterile products, chemotherapy agents, and parenteral nutrition as needed.
- Monitor drug therapy for interactions, contraindications, adverse reactions, and organ‑function adjustments.
- Participate in daily rounds, code responses, and high‑acuity patient care.
- Provide drug information, patient/family education, and discharge medication reconciliation.
- Supervise pharmacy support staff and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Cover every third weekend and occasional night shifts while maintaining timely service.
Required profile
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or BS Pharmacy degree.
- Active Texas pharmacist license (or eligibility within 60 days).
- 3–5 years of hospital pharmacy experience or completion of a PGY1/PGY2 residency.
- Clinical experience in ICU and/or internal medicine.
- Current BLS certification (ACLS preferred).
- Strong critical‑thinking, communication, and problem‑solving abilities.
- Availability for full‑time day shifts (8:00 AM–4:30 PM, M‑F) with weekend and occasional night coverage.
