Civil Designer – Municipal/Public Works

About the role

At Davis, Bowen & Friedel, Inc. (DBF), Designers support the creation of infrastructure that enhances, maintains, and protects communities. This full‑time, on‑site position focuses on municipal and public‑works projects such as water, wastewater, stormwater, and roadway design.

Key responsibilities

• Utilize design software and computer‑aided drafting to plan, design, and permit water, sanitary sewer, roadway, streetscape, drainage, and stormwater projects.
• Perform civil design analysis and calculations according to project requirements.
• Prepare correspondence, cost estimates, and bid documents for clients.
• Conduct field activities, record existing conditions, and verify measurements.
• Incorporate survey data, project documentation, and jurisdiction codes into designs.
• Modify designs based on feedback and develop solutions.
• Provide timely technical assistance.
