Category Manager, Construction

About the role

Google's Procurement Organization is seeking a Category Manager to lead construction‑related indirect spend. You will shape sourcing strategies, drive supplier relationships, and unlock value through data‑driven insights across the construction and real‑estate categories.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute holistic category strategies for construction spend.
• Lead RFx processes, negotiations, and supplier evaluations.
• Draft, review, and manage contracts and agreements within construction categories.
• Define and monitor KPIs to measure category performance and progress.
• Analyze procurement data, generate reports, and provide actionable insights.
• Identify and implement continuous‑improvement and innovation initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Finance or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum 7 years of experience in sourcing, category management, or procurement focused on construction/real‑estate indirect spend (or 5 years with an advanced degree).
• Proven experience executing sourcing strategies, RFx processes, negotiations, and supplier evaluations.
• Experience drafting, reviewing, and managing contracts in construction categories.
