About the role

Ochsner Health, a historic Louisiana health system, is seeking experienced cardiothoracic surgeons to provide advanced cardiac and thoracic care. The position involves diagnosing, treating, and performing complex surgeries for patients with heart, lung, and chest‑cavity conditions.

Key responsibilities

Diagnose and treat conditions affecting the heart, lungs, esophagus, and other organs in the chest cavity.
Perform surgical procedures such as valve replacement, aortic valve replacement, and heart‑lung transplants.
Develop comprehensive care plans that include medical history, examination, diagnosis, treatment, and referrals.
Collaborate with consulting physicians, nurses, patients, and families regarding treatment and ongoing care.

Required profile

Medical degree (M.D. or D.O.).
Completion of a cardiothoracic surgery residency.
Active license to practice medicine in Louisiana.
