Buyer – Procurement Specialist for Aerospace

About the role

The Buyer will support Venus Aerospace’s mission by managing purchase orders and securing machined parts and raw materials essential for our advanced rocket engines. Working closely with engineering from R&D through production, the role ensures timely, cost‑effective delivery of critical components.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate supplier capabilities, pricing, delivery commitments and performance to source required materials.
• Maintain accurate, real‑time purchasing data in existing systems and assist the transition to scalable platforms.
• Ensure on‑time delivery of all materials and manage strong relationships with assigned suppliers.
• Oversee the RFQ process, obtain competitive bids and negotiate optimal pricing.
• Partner with engineering teams to fulfill procurement requirements and act as primary contact for order status.
• Provide regular updates to stakeholders on purchase order progress and anticipated delivery dates.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of procurement experience, at least 3 years in aerospace or manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of machining processes such as CNC milling, CNC turning, multi‑axis machining and complex assemblies.
• Experience sourcing tight‑tolerance, low‑volume, prototype and production components.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, CAD models and technical specifications.
• Proven success in supplier onboarding, negotiation and managing multiple priorities in ambiguous environments.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MRP systems.
• Familiarity with AS9100 standards and U.S. export control requirements.
• Ability to read and accurately interpret engineering drawings.
• Strong organizational and problem‑solving capabilities.
