About the role
BASF is seeking a Business Development Specialist to join its Automotive Refinish team in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area. The role focuses on expanding market share for high‑quality refinish paint brands and related products by partnering with collision repair shops and distribution partners.
Key responsibilities
- Execute the business strategy and drive sales growth in the assigned territory.
- Identify new customers, generate leads, qualify opportunities, and close sales, with 70% of time dedicated to acquiring new business.
- Maintain and grow existing customer relationships while establishing trust with new prospects.
- Travel up to 50% of the time across the region, using a company‑provided vehicle.
- Provide product recommendations and support to help customers improve performance and efficiency.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; high school diploma acceptable with relevant experience.
- Proven experience in field sales, territory management, and customer relations.
- Background in the automotive collision repair industry is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship‑building abilities.
- Self‑motivated professional who can balance existing accounts with aggressive new‑business pursuit.
