Biomedical Technician 3

About the role

The University of Miami/UHealth Clinical Engineering department seeks a full‑time Biomedical Technician 3 to install, maintain, calibrate, and repair complex biomedical equipment in Miami, FL.

Key responsibilities

• Perform installation, maintenance, calibration, and repair of a wide range of medical devices according to OEM recommendations.
• Supervise outside vendors, ensure compliance with codes and standards, and maintain accurate equipment documentation.
• Inspect incoming equipment for regulatory compliance and manage parts inventory.
• Participate in departmental audits, inventory reconciliation, and hospital committees.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or equivalent with at least 4 years of relevant biomedical equipment experience.
• Strong knowledge of regulatory agencies, codes, standards, and hospital policies.
• Ability to mentor junior staff and provide technical guidance.

Required skills

• Proficiency with electronic test equipment and diagnostic service software.
• Experience in equipment calibration and repair.
• Competence in using office automation hardware and software.
