Autonomous Ground Support Equipment Operator

About the role

We are seeking an Autonomous GSE Operator to run AeroVect’s autonomous airport tractors at Hartsfield‑Jackson Atlanta International Airport. You will ensure safe movement of live cargo across the airfield while working closely with our engineering team to refine vehicle performance.

Key responsibilities

• Operate autonomous ground‑support vehicles on the airport’s airside.
• Log vehicle behavior, performance metrics and observations.
• Supervise autonomous baggage tugs during operation and manually drive them to and from the storage depot.
• Conduct pre‑shift and post‑shift inspections of vehicles and hardware systems.
• Collaborate with engineering to trial and test new vehicle features.
• Interface with cargo and baggage handlers to coordinate loading and transport.
• Provide feedback to improve vehicle handling in complex driving scenarios.

Required profile

• Experience working in airside environments and handling specialty vehicles.
• Valid US Class C driver’s license with at least three years of clean‑record driving experience.
• Proven ability to work independently, supervise operations and maintain detailed records.
• Flexibility to work varied hours, including weekends, and pass federal background checks for an airport security badge.

Required skills

• Basic computer programming.
• Familiarity with ROS (Robot Operating System) – a plus.
