Automation Equipment Mechanic – 12hr Night Shift

About the role

We are seeking an Automation Equipment Mechanic to work a 12‑hour night shift supporting injection molding and downstream automated manufacturing equipment at our Scottsville facility. The role involves hands‑on electro‑mechanical work, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance to keep production running smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Set up, build, and repair injection molding and automated manufacturing cells.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical, mechanical, and process issues, including PLC‑based troubleshooting.
• Maintain electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic control systems and update related drawings.
• Perform preventive maintenance according to SOPs and document all activities.
• Fabricate specialized tooling using lathe and mill equipment.
• Coach and train maintenance mechanics and operators on automation processes.
• Support engineering initiatives and travel locally (<5%) as needed.

Required profile

• Experience with PLCs (Allen Bradley) and CNC equipment.
• Background in injection molding machine maintenance.
• Electro‑mechanical, machinist or electrician expertise.
• Proficiency in machine‑shop operations, especially lathe and mill.
• Ability to read schematics, parts lists, and technical drawings.
• Strong communication skills in English.
