Authorized Inspector/Trainee – Pressure Vessel Inspection

About the role

Bureau Veritas is seeking a dedicated Trainee Inspector with hands‑on experience in metal fabrication and pressure‑vessel manufacturing. The role supports clients by ensuring welds, assemblies and fabrication processes meet ASME and NBIC code requirements, while providing a pathway to a career in quality assurance and certification.

Key responsibilities

• Perform ASME and National Board shop and field inspections, reviewing code‑required activities and witnessing required tests.
• Monitor client quality‑control systems for compliance with relevant codes and document all inspection activities per established policies.
• Ensure compliance with applicable sections of the ASME Code, the National Board Inspection Code, and jurisdictional requirements for boilers and pressure vessels.
• Continuously update knowledge of ASME, NBIC and related codes through self‑study, internal training and approved courses.

Required profile

• Must have a high school diploma.
• Ability to read, write and speak clearly, use a computer and perform basic arithmetic.
• Ability to understand and interpret boiler and pressure‑vessel codes.
• Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with clients and adhering to company policies.

Required skills

• Metal fabrication experience.
• Pressure‑vessel inspection knowledge.
• Familiarity with ASME Code requirements.
• Familiarity with NBIC (National Board) Code requirements.
• Basic Non‑Destructive Examination (NDE) techniques.
