Auditor, Governance Risk & Compliance

About the role

The Governance Risk & Compliance (GRC) team at World Wide Grocery Stores (WWGS) is seeking an experienced Auditor to lead internal‑control and SOX compliance initiatives. You will act as a subject‑matter expert, advising control owners across Accounting, Finance, Engineering/IT and other functions to ensure robust financial regulatory compliance and operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Provide implementation guidance for new processes and system roll‑outs.
• Coordinate walkthroughs and testing with control owners, preparing and reviewing narratives, flowcharts and control matrices.
• Lead meetings, interpret internal‑control findings, draw analytical conclusions and recommend remediation.
• Communicate results, monitor issue resolution and support additional compliance audits or special projects.
• Assist in enhancing WWGS compliance methodologies, policies and procedures, translating regulatory requirements for technical and business partners.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years of experience in controls, audit, compliance or SOX roles.
• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Experience in large public companies or Big‑4 advisory serving Fortune 500 clients.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively on complex challenges and manage multiple projects.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of internal‑control frameworks and SOX compliance.
• Experience with control documentation (process narratives, flowcharts, control matrices).
• Ability to translate regulatory requirements into technical and business solutions.
