Audit Quality Control Reviewer

About the role

The Audit Quality Control Reviewer ensures that financial and performance audits meet the highest standards of completeness, compliance, and consistency. Working primarily on‑site in Austin, the role supports multiple audit teams and contributes to the integrity of government auditing processes.

Key responsibilities

• Review audit documentation for adherence to GAGAS, GAAS, governmental accounting standards, and internal policies.
• Assess whether audit evidence is sufficient and appropriate to support findings and recommendations.
• Identify changes in professional standards and communicate updates to management and audit staff.
• Collaborate with project managers to resolve documentation issues and provide constructive feedback.
• Perform related analytical and compliance tasks as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, public administration, information systems, or a related field.
• Minimum three years of accounting or auditing experience, including at least two years reviewing audit documentation.
• Strong critical‑thinking, problem‑solving, and written communication abilities.
• Ability to work with moderate supervision and exercise independent judgment.

Required skills

• Knowledge of GAGAS, GAAS, and governmental accounting standards.
• Proficiency with audit software such as TeamMate.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access.
